RCCIL is an independent database of research on London's cultural & creative industries. It aims to make research more accessible to policy-makers, academics & service-providers.
There is a large amount of research focusing on culture-led urban regeneration in London. It examines the role of culture in shaping urban spaces, and discusses the prospects for place-making and city-marketing through culture. This theme covers such topics and includes the creation of cultural quarters, gentrification processes initiated by a boost in culture, the development of a 'night-time' economy, the promotion of 'creative cities', the social and economic impact of festivals and events, and matters of environmental sustainability affecting London.
