RCCIL is an independent database of research on London's cultural & creative industries. It aims to make research more accessible to policy-makers, academics & service-providers.
Research on labour-related aspects as well as the work organisation of the cultural and creative industries has been grouped under this theme. This encompasses clustering and networking strategies, aspects of management of small and medium enterprises (SME), the nature of a ‘creative class', and diversity and gender dimensions of the workforce. Issues covered in the research range from the organisational logic and nature of the industries, the advantages of developing creative work environments, ways of fostering entrepreneurship, freelancing and precariousness as key features of the workforce, and sector strategies for business growth.
