Access & Participation
This section looks at a wide range of aspects relating to access and participation in cultural and creative activities in London. The research has been organised into the following topics: audiences (profile and behaviour); community participation (including BME groups); cultural provision in the boroughs; grassroots (non-mainstream) cultural programmes led by communities; and social impact (including empowerment and capacity-building). Issues covered by this theme also concern the evaluation of a variety of programmes in terms of their aims and impact as well as their success in widening audience groups and encouraging participation.
