RCCIL is an independent database of research on London's cultural & creative industries. It aims to make research more accessible to policy-makers, academics & service-providers.
Illustrated here is research concerning the dimensions of education and learning within the cultural and creative industries. Research has been classified into three broad themes: creativity and innovation, skills and training, and support. Areas touched upon include the links between media and education, the ways in which creative activities can have an impact upon adults' and teenagers' learning processes, and the different strategies undertaken to foster education through cultural activities. Other issues covered by the research include the evaluation of support initiatives to develop creative skills, the assessment of the potential role of cultural institutions to support learning in vulnerable social sectors, and the importance of promoting commercial innovation for businesses.
